What we can do for you and your company in these difficult times: Truly different experiences:
The Powerplay Seminar
Why not try a day with Ray Keene OBE, chess grandmaster and chess correspondent for The Times, The Sunday Times and The Spectator. He has written 140 books on chess, thinking, mental world records and the nature of genius. He has also organised three world chess championships, appeared frequently on television and put together the first ever world championship in any thinking sport between a human and a computer - see website www.keeneonchess.com
For a unique corporate team building experience try Ray’s chess displays ranging from 20 opponents at one and the same time - with him being able to see the boards and pieces - to simultaneous games where he does not have sight of the games - the price range is between £2k and £5k fee for an evening, plus any extras such as expenses getting to the venue, dinner for the group if that is deemed appropriate, hire of a venue - unless you do it on your own premises - and hire of chess sets - this is a negligible cost.
He has been active for 15 years for clients such as Liechtenstein Global Trust, Management Centre Europe, for both many many times, Astromerck and Microsoft in the USA, The Young Presidents Organisation, The Executives Association of Great Britain at the Grosvenor Hotel, KPMG, Thamesis, Adecco and Convergys - plus many others. The evening involves Ray taking on your team and then talking afterwards - usually over dinner, about chess and its applications to strategy. He has also written a book about corporate strategy and chess - which can be given as part of the presentation - they cost £10-00 per book so 20 would be £200, and it makes a splendid signed souvenir of the evening.
Your company can challenge a Grandmaster!
This function can be carried on your own premises, or your company could hire a room at - for example - the elite London restaurant, Simpsons in the Strand which used to be a great chess club and is packed with chess memorabilia. Ray could take on five of your staff at once without being able to see the board or pieces - and there could be an audience - consisting if you wish, as many as your staff members as you like. With a black tie dinner to follow. In our experience this works as a huge morale and team builder!! For the audience we can bring in huge chess demo boards to show the games in progress. It makes for a highly entertaining evening -especially when Ray can recall games from memory afterwards - which tends to impress the audience considerably. An added bonus on the team building front is that your players can also combine in teams against Ray - so he could play five games at once without sight of the board against five teams of 2 or three opponents each - who jointly decide on their move at every stage.
